This deserves some sort of lifetime achievement award.
Just do it.
I don’t even have words
I don’t think I’ve ever felt more sophisticated than I do right now.
We now have less than one week until the Uni Haloween party.
I have bought everything (except makeup, jewellery and straps for my corset) for my Harley circa Arkham Asylum costume (glad to have gone asylum and not city if I’m honest)
1) white shirt. Sleeves need cutting shorter and the whole top needs ripping away to make the circular neckline, rather than the low-cut V neck I’ve got now. How to do this without a sewing machine, fabric pattern or cutting any of the collar is the hard part
2) white pleated skirt. We’ve all seen that Harley’s is pretty short. The one I bought said “7 inches”… i assumed from the skirt to the waistband was 7 inches. I WAS WRONG! the whole fucking thing is 7 inches, so it’s way too short. I’m going to see if I can get another, but I may have to just let the whole waist down and see if I can make it a bit longer :(
3) my corset does up totally at the front, so it’s going to be a little wrong, but hopefully It’ll pass once I put purple bands on the front and red straps going over my shoulders. I’m worried about those though, because it’s alot of work and I’m not certain how to do them right. They go over the shoulders at the front, cross in the middle of the back onto a steel ring, and then are purple from the ring into the corset. It’s generally just awkward to organise.
4) Instead of big purple/red boots, I’ve got purple and red tights, which I’ll be turning into stockings and black knee high boots. They’re not right, but I ABSOLUTELY HATE boot tops, so I refuse to wear them. Under that I’ve got black fishnets held up by red suspenders and it should all be peachy with my black boxers on (I already said the skirt is only 7 inches, yeah?)
I think that’s basically everything… I don’t have her little nurses hat, and I’m just going to keep my hair as it is because wigs are way too expensive for my poor student pocket. Hopefully it’ll go alright. I’ll be sure to take and post lots of photo :)
